“As a photographer whose considerations often involves how to tackle fashion, nudity is an opportunity to focus purely on the image. I view nudity as one step closer to photographing the soul in flesh, the absence of camouflage. I know not why nudity is considered taboo but perhaps it is the stripping away of defences that strikes a nerve in certain fractions of society.
This particular shoot for Yummy I am exploring yet another taboo, that of the racial barriers of skin, that the color of skin determines one’s destiny in life needs to be resolved if we are to evolve as a society. Of course to complicate further the issue of nudity and race is the erotic factor of two men naked in proximity of each other. As an artist, I like complications. I like for the viewer to delve further into it, into this maze of human existence.” Steven Klein
